My Project
I have multiple ideas included in this project because I am so excited for this school year!
First, keeping a classroom full of energetic 7-8 year olds focused and on task can be a challenge.
With the materials in this project, I will be able to keep motivation and engagement high. I have included a lot of items that can be used in my class store as rewards. These rewards are gained through staying on task, following directions, and being kind. Students will love items like pencil top erasers and stickers, so they want to behave better in the classroom.
Next, I have also included some fun indoor recess activities in this project. Where I live, our winters get very cold and students are inside usually once a week. This requires access to various activities that can challenge them mentally and socially. Some items, like the Jenga and uno games, allow students to work together and have a good experience when they can't go outside.
Another part of my project is for inclusion. To help my class have an environment of unity and welcome, we make class T-shirts each year. These t-shirts are used to show we are a family, and the students always love them and are so excited to receive them!
The last few items on my list are for a more overall benefit of the class. I will use the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to help find activities, lessons, and art projects that my students can all understand and enjoy. I can use that tool to help me find activities that can boost my lower-level learners, stretch my higher-level learners, and even increase my understanding of my multilingual learners.
