This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In East Oakland, some days have surpassed 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and my students have to stand near the windows just to catch their breathe, especially after PE.
This fan would allow our classroom of 20+ students to more comfortably learn and participate in classwork.
Every day, at least one student comes in feeling light-headed, dizzy, and dehydrated, drained from the sun. September is the hottest month of the year in Oakland, so this fan will help us get through the upcoming months, which has been one of the hottest summers in Oakland as of yet.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
