This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello! I am a special education inclusion math teacher, which means I serve students at my middle school campus with math in their regular math classes. As I get my room set up for this year, I found that there are a few more items that are needed.

All our students have the potential to learn and it's our job as their teacher to help them reach their full potential.

The pencil bags and manual sharpeners will help me to be able to provide all my students with a pencil bag filled with the essentials (pencils, erasers, expo marker, etc.) that they will need each day. I had to leave the last number line I had at my previous campus, so I need a new number line to put up in our room for this year and having a visual number is very helpful for students learning math in middle school. The snacks are for those students who come to me hungry because many cannot focus when they're hungry and for many of my students they love a treat for a job well done with their work and/or behavior goals. Every student on our campus is assigned a Chromebook and a lot of work is done on them, so having a surge protector where we can charge multiple devices at once is needed. The magnetic hooks will allow me to hang up some bulb lights I already have to help create a more calming atmosphere for our classroom. Students love using Posca markers to personalize their journals and projects.

It takes a wide variety of items that help a classroom run from day to day. We appreciate all and any support that we receive to our classroom to help our students learn each and every day. Thank you!
