Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These classroom essentials will ensure that my students are set up for success right away. The tall office chair will allow me to be on the same level as the students while they are at their lab tables. This will encourage more Socratic dialogue during labs and a more cooperative learning experience overall.
The breakfast snacks are a good way to make sure students aren’t thinking about food when they should be learning!
We are a Title 1 charter school that has a predominantly lower income student demographic. This means several students sometimes show up to class hungry. Middle school students, in general, are more prone to skipping meals and keeping snacks on hand will make sure that’s one less obstacle in their way for the day.
The science posters will be used to encourage scientific thinking throughout their day. I want these middle schoolers to feel empowered by knowledge, and what it can do to enrich their lives.
