This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Tools for writing are in high demand, in our class.
My first-grade students are learning to write, and they love it.
They have opportunities all day long to practice. They use pencils for workbooks and journal writing and Expo markers for encoding practice on whiteboards. Individual pencil sharpeners are great for classroom management, and students can keep their sharpener in their backpack for use at home. Erasers allow students to fix their mistakes and sentence strips are used for modeling sentence writing.
These tools are used all the time and will be greatly appreciated. They will be put right to use.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
