This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds. They range from low-income families to homes where parents are trying their best to raise their children in a neighborhood that has gang-related problems daily. There are students who are separated from their parents and live with either a foster family or a relative. Either way, they come to class eager to learn, which is why I wouldn't want anything more but to enhance their excitement for education through games and materials.
My Project
School supplies are essentials for students and teachers. For children who come from low-income families, I'd like to provide my students with the opportunity to have supplies that they may not necessarily have access to.
Without these supplies, the daily ongoings of the classroom with be limiting.
Having a new pack of paint, new folders, craft trays are just a few items that would be essential to have in the classroom. These types of materials are motivating and exciting for children. More importantly, they will serve a better learning experience for students.
