Classroom Essentials: Books, Games and Snacks

My Students

My goal each year is to create a welcoming classroom community where kids feel comfortable expressing themselves and become confident learners who take risks.

I want my students to feel loved, respected and to come to school excited to learn!

My students are creative and love learning new things. Most of my students come from low-income homes and families are doing their best to support their children during this crazy year. I want to do my best to support students by creating a classroom environment that supports learning. As a newer teacher, I'm still trying to build my supply of classroom books, small group tools/games and other items needed to provide the best learning environment.

My Project

These materials are essential for our classroom to make it a safe, fun and challenging space for my students. The books will be used during leveled reading groups for differentiation between students' skill levels. The games will be used during small group instruction, indoor recess and/or choice time to give students an opportunity to play and socialize with each other. The snacks will be given during our designated snack time to students that are unable to bring anything from home. At this time, breakfast and lunch are provided by the school but snack is only available to students when provided by the teacher.
