Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an educator, my primary goal is to create an environment in which my students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. However, for many inner-city students, these opportunities are limited as they face numerous challenges outside the classroom.
My primary goal is to create a comfortable, safe, and inspiring classroom environment.
Such an environment will help students feel valued and empowered, promoting a positive attitude towards learning and fostering a sense of belonging. I want to foster a positive learning environment by procuring suitable furniture, learning materials, and equipment.
The resources included in this project will help students throughout the year. The flexible seating choices are here to let students have their choice of how/where to sit. A label maker is included to help students identify where materials in the classroom are. Whiteboards with graphs are designed to help our students when we are working with coordinate planes. Several tools for organization are included such as the bankers' boxes and storage baskets. In addition, there are a couple of classroom decorations included to create a calmer environment for the students.
My students are unique in their resilience and determination to overcome the challenges they face in their daily lives. My students face socio-economic disparities, financial difficulties, and have limited access to educational resources. Despite these obstacles, they exhibit remarkable strength, potential, and a thirst for knowledge. With the right support and resources, they have the ability to achieve great heights. By securing necessary items through the Donors Choose project, we can empower these special students to thrive and reach their full potential. Let us come together to provide them with the tools they need to succeed, as every child deserves an equal opportunity for a quality education.
