Help me give my students an engaging, multi-sensory, and dynamic classroom experience, where collaboration and student voice is celebrated and reinforced daily.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As our school continues to welcome students from various backgrounds, it is important to us that everyone feels right at home. In my integrated classroom with a high percentage of ENL students, offering flexible seating and grouping will enhance the learning experience we provide.
The bar stool set will be a great place for young mathematicians to collaborate and model skills vital to 5th-grade curriculum.
The math games will allow for entry points for our diverse English language learners and special education students as they will be able to partake in a low risk, high social/cognitive reward activity. In addition to games, manipulatives to support geometry, such as the giant coordinate plane boards will put the math doing right into my students hands fostering a curiosity which every STEM student should embody.
Overall, this is just the beginning of what we picture as an optimum classroom enviroment that not only welcomes all, but encourages and motivates simultaneously. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get in funding this project.
