Classroom Economy

Help me give my students stickers, erasers, and rewards for our classroom economy.

My Students

My students are bursting with energy and have a strong desire to grow and learn. The majority of my students are Native American. Due to the low socioeconomic area, 100 percent of my students receive complimentary breakfast and lunch at school.

I am aware of the challenges many of my students face.

When they walk through my classroom door, I make sure that they are all given an equal opportunity to learn in a positive, encouraging environment.

My Project

This year we have a schoolwide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support System (PBIS). All of our teachers are on the same page and we use an app to contribute points to students who are eager to learn, working hard, showing kindness and more. My students are working so hard and I would like to reward and encourage all of their efforts. Setting up a classroom economy will allow my students to stay motivated while letting me reward them for all of their hard work.

The best way to learn is through experiences and in our classroom economy my students will work on managing their points to meet their goals which is just as important as earning the points themselves.

At the end of each week, students will be able to spend their points in the class store. The items I've requested, such as the animal erasers and tiny accessories such as food, drinks, toys, will add to our Desk Pet system. They will also be able to earn stickers, which they love putting on their water bottles and clipboards. The containers will be used to help our classroom economy supplies be organized.

My students are going to love the added incentives while also learning important skills such as budgeting, shopping, and saving.
