Classroom Economy Auction

My Project

At the start of this school year, I knew that students were counting on structure and routine in the classroom after several years of altered learning due to COVID-19. Therefore, I decided to implement a classroom economy to enhance my students' independence, motivation and sense of belonging. My students have been working hard all year to earn their McMoney dollars in our classroom economy. They earn dollars for responsible and respectful choices, excellent work and engaging in activities that enhance their physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being. They get paid weekly and have the opportunity to shop at our classroom store once a month. They are also learning that budgeting and saving will allow them to "purchase" big items at our end-of-year auction. They are greatly looking forward to this!
