My Project
My students are creative thinkers, writers, readers, inquirers, explorers, and leaders despite the fact that over half of my students do not speak English at home, and some have language and learning disabilities.
While overcoming several challenges, my students all work hard, think deeply, and always take extra effort to learn and share with each other.
Our school is a Title I school that serves many underprivileged students in the community. Approximately 95% of our students are from low-income households, and all of our students are eligible to receive free lunch. Many of them will, hopefully, be the first in their family to go to college.
In my classes, we do many activities that involved creatively expressing the students' thoughts on paper. These range from recording students' thoughts on a web chart on chart paper to coloring in maps of lands they created with their knowledge of geography. These projects require supplies that we are quickly running out of, such as colored pencils and chart paper. I hope to give my students enough supplies to help them further expand their knowledge and enhance their learning!
