My Project

When I took over this EBD program the space was sparce and minimal as staff was worried about students and their escalations. However, that lack of warmth and ownership of the space played into that narrative, making it easy for students to be destructive.

I have sought to create a calm, inviting space with low lighting, decor, open floor seating so students feel safe and wanted, thus making it a great learning environment, help me take it to the next level.

Our desks are haggard from basic wear and tear as well as many escalations. These students are working hard to self-regulate and become the scholars I know them to be and I would like to give them a classroom that reflects it with these new desks and chairs.
