My Students
Pre-kindergarten is my students' first experience in school. It is important for my students to feel comfortable away from home.
Many of the students in my school come from low income homes.
I am determined to provide them with the best education possible so they can grow to achieve anything. The children in my class are eager to learn and have fun while doing it! Pre-k is many of my students' first time in school, so it is up to me to instill in them a love for learning.
My Project
Pre-kindergarten is a long day for many children, and therefore it's important for them to have someplace to relax for a few minutes. It is difficult for young children to stay seated and engaged for long periods of time, therefore a cozy corner gives my children a place to calm down before rejoining the class. The beanbags will provide this comfy area for them to regroup. The listening center will provide an educational activity for them to do while in the cozy corner. Listening to stories, while also reading books, allows children to connect the words to the pictures in the story. This is an important reading readiness skill!
My school does not have the funding to provide my students with the resources they need to reach their potential.
I want to provide my students with an excellent first experience of school, and give them the educational base for the rest of their school years.
