I teach 18 energetic and fun kindergarten students in a high need community. My school is a Title I school where most of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. Despite our needs, I hold high expectations for all of my students.
My students come from a variety of home backgrounds and educational backgrounds.
Most of my students have never attended preschool; therefore, kindergarten is the first school experience they have. That makes my job extremely important! I want their first year in school to be the best they will ever have, plus I want them learn so much!
My Project
For my students to have the best kindergarten experience possible, I need to give them a space that is conducive to learning. For 5 year olds, that type of environment needs to be organized, structured, and they need to know their surroundings. The materials in this project will allow my students to work during math and literacy center time with independence and confidence. All the pieces can be stored together and we won't waste any time looking for game pieces! The magnetic write and wipe board will allow my students to practice their sentence writing in a fun way during writing time, and the globe will give us a better sense of our world during social studies.
I want to thank you for your time in reading my proposal.
It would be a blessing for my students to receive the gift of learning. I hope after reading our proposal, you are inspired to be a part of all the success my students will gain. Our children are the future and we are the ones that help them get there!
