Classroom Computers Could Bring Us Into The 21st Century!

My students need 4 Macintosh computers for the classroom.

I teach a special needs classroom for emotionally disturbed students in grades 3-5 at a low-income public school in San Francisco.

The only computer I have in the classroom is one I got from Donors Choose a few years ago. Unfortunately, it was very inexpensive and now the CD player doesn't work and the sound is distorted. I want to have more than one computer in the classroom so that students can work simultaneously and I want to get Macs because they are built to last and are easy to use. Mac is #1 in education, and with good reason.

Computers in the classroom would make it possible for students to access the wealth of educational websites, such as starfall, discovery education, and others. I also could make use of my learning CD programs, including Type to Learn and Arthur's Reading Race.

While I am aware that computers are costly, I feel that the investment is worthwhile. Should you choose to donate, your generous contribution would make it possible for these low-income, special needs students to keep up with today's technology and make learning fun.
