My Project
Thank you for taking the time to check out this important project for my classroom. This will be my 8th year in kindergarten, and I am so excited to continue on my journey!
It is important to me to provide my new students with a learning space that will be comfortable while they are learning throughout the day!
In this project I have included a classroom rug. When I am teaching through whole group instruction, my students will meet me on the floor as I teach. This rug will provide them with a space to sit. The rug has 24 spots on it for my 24 students. This will give each of my students the visual and personal space they need. The students will also use this rug for small groups, independent practice, and indoor recess. It help provide them with a sense of community that they need to belong in this classroom.
I have also included a tent for my calming area for students to use when students need a space to be alone. There are also many items that will help replenish items that need to be replaced after 8 years of teaching.
My goal for this project is to incorporate a comfortable space into our daily learning environment as our classroom is a second home to my students. It would mean so much to us for you to consider funding our project before the new school year. This would allow me time to go in over the summer and get our new furniture and items set up before the students start on the first day.
