My Students
In all things, be kind. This is our classroom motto, and we strive every day to live these words. We are a supportive community of learners and leaders who look for ways to become better citizens every day! I am fortunate to team teach which gives me the opportunity to teach literacy to two groups of energetic, inquisitive, and curious fifth graders.
My students enjoy working collaboratively in all settings and show a true desire to become better readers and writers together.
Our students live a diverse community and attend a neighborhood school. There is a beautiful park near our school, and the local YMCA is within walking distance, offering students enrichment opportunities.
I love introducing learners to new books and authors that spark the joy of reading!
My Project
This gathering carpet will enhance the community building in our classroom. I often bring my students to the carpet for our class meetings, mini-lessons, and read-aloud. The learners in my class enjoy meeting together on the floor to share writing, work with math boards, and partner read. When given the choice of where students would like to work, they most often choose to come to the floor!
My fourth graders will love to have this brightly colored carpet to join together and engage in learning!
When students have a space created for the purpose of building community, they will feel welcomed and valued. I am excited to invite my students to join me on this colorful carpet! Thank you!
