This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diverse. Students who have never been in an English Language Arts class sit alongside students who have been in the American education system since pre-school. Students who have never read a book outside of class collaborate with daily readers. Students who participate in endless extracurriculars laugh and talk about literary devices and elements of writing alongside students who work part time to help their family pay bills.

All of my students deserve a teacher, a room, and facilities that provide them the opportunity for innovative and engaging ways to learn.

Please help me provide this for them.

My Project

With students getting back into the classroom, it's a prime opportunity to reorganize and make sure that the classroom is not just a functional space for learning, but also provides students access to all of the tools and resources they need while also giving them opportunities to not congregate in all one spot.

Many of the items on my list are intended to help build more functional learning groups in the classroom, by providing each group with easy access to things such as: highlighters, markers, pens, and pencils (stored in the handy little containers on my list!).

And as an English class, we're in desperate need of another bookshelf to store the mounting library of novels and texts available for students to read! ​

In the last few years, I've noticed that some students need a little extra support in their seats, which are tall given my desks offer both sitting and standing options. The folding step stools will provide shorter students the ability to rest their feet on solid ground (providing better spine support), and the rectangular pillows will provide further lumbar support at the back for any student(s) that might need them.

Please help me build a more organized and comfortable learning experience for my students!
