My Project
One of my philosophies as a teacher is that my classroom should be a safe place for all of my little scholars. To me, this means keeping it stocked with all of the essentials so that they don't have to worry.
First graders are six years old.
That means dealing with our fair share of messes. From lunch time spills, to arts and crafts, to accidents, sometimes kids need a change of clothes. Unfortunately, most of us know what it is like to have a spill or accident and to sit in it until we can get picked up (if our parents were able to leave work). Not only is it uncomfortable and embarrassing, but we have to miss out on learning! I try to never let that happen to my students, and to always keep a new change of shirt, underwear, socks, and sweatpants in my room for students who need it. Sometimes I even have some of my past students come to my class, because they know I'll have a change of clothes for them. Last year completely wiped out my stock of classroom uniforms & undergarments, and I would be so appreciative for any help in restocking!
