The students in my classroom this year are sweet, young, loving kids. They range from the ages of 3-5. The students enjoy our free choice centers within the classroom. The students enjoy it when we bring out and rotate new centers. To see them smile helps brighten my day. Every day is a new adventure with our class.
Sensory breaks are key for students with autism.
Sensory breaks allow the students' bodies and brains to take a break, then when we regroup, the students will be more focused.
My Project
The materials requested will help give my classroom centers a makeover. The dramatic play area will have a new kitchen (this is one of the favorite centers in the classroom!). Our current kitchen is missing many pieces. The bright-colored rugs will replace the ones currently in our classroom. The students will not only love to play on new carpets but also the carpets will help them learn (alphabet, numbers, etc). The road carpet will go in the block center, where the students will be able to build on it, as well as take the cars requested and race them around the track.
There are other manipulatives I've requested for our classroom, will help the students learn colors and shapes by matching.
