This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students learn best when they are fully engaged! My students thrive in a classroom environment that accesses their multi-modalities. They learn the most in a hands-on approach to learning. One of the best ways for my students to learn is to engage in the lesson by various methods.
My students are exceptional students!
They are in special education because they mostly have learning disabilities. They are enthusiastic learners and are ready for a challenge! I want to offer many ways for my students to stay engaged in my class.
My Project
The classroom carpet will be a wonderful addition to our classroom. Students will have the option to sit and read on the carpet instead of sitting at their desks. I think my students will enjoy the carpet because they can stretch out and be comfortable. They can sit on a soft, comfortable carpet and enjoy reading a book. Students won't be constricted to sitting in a traditional chair. The carpet will also be a meeting place. I will gather the class to facilitate community circles on the carpet. The carpet can also be used as a place for students to calm down if they need to.
