Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Teaching is more about academics. It is also about building classroom community and creating a safe space for students to learn. In order to accomplish this, I am hoping for a classroom carpet that students can utilize for restorative circles, morning meeting, groups and more.
When a student feels comfortable in their physical space, it can change their whole attitude about learning.
The classroom carpet will be a place that not only looks great, but also be used daily. In 4th grade, students are using discussion based learning to further their academics. This carpet will also be used for flexible seating when appropriate.
