Classroom Carpet for Kind Conversations

Help me give my students a new carpet for our digital literacy lab! We had a beautiful carpet that unfortunately was destroyed due to maintenance in the room. I am hoping to get a replacement for our space!

My Project

In our digital literacy classroom for K-2 students, a carpet is an essential piece of furniture that transforms the learning environment. It provides a dedicated and comfortable space for our young learners to gather, fostering a sense of community and connection. We use this inviting area for our weekly group discussions on kindness, where the soft surface encourages open and honest conversations among students. The carpet also serves as the focal point for our computer science lessons, where we gather to engage in unplugged activities, talk about algorithms, and share our digital creations. This versatile space provides a cozy and calming atmosphere that is crucial for keeping our youngest students engaged and focused during both our social-emotional learning and technology-focused activities. The addition of a classroom carpet would be a tremendous asset, but as you know, school budgets are limited. Our previous carpet was unfortunately damaged when we had maintenance, so I am hoping to replace it.
