Help me give my students materials to maintain a calm body and mind while at school. We work on Zones of Regulation and how to stay in the “green zone” where we are calm and ready to work.
These tools will support emotional regulation in my classroom. Students will learn how to self-regulate, calm-down, and problem-solve. This calm zone will be in our classroom where students feel comfortable to work out their emotions and then return to the group activity when they are ready. We will have all tools organized on the side table next to our rocking chair.
Students will name their feeling, use specific calming exercises, and then move into problem-solving.
Often, sensory tools and resources help support students through this process. We look forward to building resilient students!
