This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 6th-grade teacher, I am working to build a strong collection of novels for whole-class reading, small group instruction, and a welcoming classroom library. I am requesting a variety of engaging titles such as Fish in a Tree, ReStart, Front Desk, The Blackbird Girls, Out of My Mind, Percy Jackson, and more. These books will help me support students at different reading levels while exposing them to meaningful stories that reflect diverse experiences. My goal is to raise literacy levels and inspire a love for reading by giving students daily access to high-interest books they can connect with.
