My Students

I have a class of 25 fearless second grade students! They are a passionate group of second grade students that had overcome so many obstacles in and out of the classroom! They work so hard at everything they do and amaze me every day!

My Project

I am working in a Title I school where most of my students either do not have a large selection of books, or don't always have the consistency of someone reading to them every day. I am joining a movement where the goal is to read a book every single day of school to my students.

The purpose of this movement is to give my students the opportunity to hear fluent reading which helps develop their listening comprehension until their decoding skills catch up.

By adding these books to my classroom, students are able to have a diverse selection of books to grow community and reading engagement.
