Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a special education teacher, I teach exceptional students with a variety of needs. I co-teach 7th and 8th grade math where students are learning and attempting to master Pre-Algebra and all the way through Algebra 1 skills. In addition, I teach a 6th grade study skills class where students learn how to become better students through additional ELA and Math work. My students give their all to the work and have the strongest effort, but often times miss the mark due to circumstances they can't control.

I teach the most amazing kids in the world.

I truly believe that students receiving special education services are the most amazing kids in the world. They have the strongest personalities and the best heart.

My Project

Our classroom is need of some basic things such as pencils and Expo markers. Students use pencils non-stop and we need some more so they are able to continue to write. We use Expo markers frequently for whiteboard review and practice.

It's January- the height of cough, sneeze, and flu season and my students need classroom materials that'll keep them clean.

We need Lysol spray, wipes, and hand sanitizer so we can keep the classroom clean. Many of my students have already been out sick. This is one way to prevent germs from spreading around the classroom.

Lastly, I work with students with disabilities. Some of them need fidgets to help with attention and many of my students need additional practice with penmanship and handwriting. They need workbooks so they are able to practice in a small group setting.
