My Students
I teach a group of amazing, curious, and hardworking special education students across Kindergarten and first grade. My students have a range of disabilities, some of which include learning disabilities, physical disabilities, emotional disturbances, speech and language impairments, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Like any other class, my students' abilities and interests range across a wide spectrum.
All of my students require individual or small group attention; each day, I incorporate all of their learning styles, interests, and special education accommodations into our lessons.
Some of my students prefer visual or auditory cues for learning, while some require a more kinesthetic or tactile approach. My students come into our classroom each day with a love of school and a desire to grow as a learner.
My Project
I am so excited to be back in school in the Fall! New York City is slated to return to full-time in-person learning, which will be a huge change for a lot of my students who are coming in. A lot of them have been fully remote for an entire school year, so it's our job to make sure they come back to a safe, fun learning environment!
We need some basic technology and basic classroom items!
The portable charges will help us charge our Amazon Fire Tablets while students are using them. So often, my students cannot use the Tablets because the battery goes quickly. With the portable chargers, they'll be able to use the Tablets while they are charging! The HDMI cord will allow me to connect my MacBook to the SMARTBoard. There are so many amazing resources and presentations I have prepared for them!
The index cards will help my students learn their sight words and math facts, both of which are incredibly important at a young age. We also need tissues so that we don't run out early on in the year.
