Help me give my students a padded area to sit on in the classroom!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Combs's classroom raised $620

My Students
My students face many challenges in the classroom as being part of a low-income/ high poverty school. They are young students who benefit from learning through experiences and being hands-on. A lot of my students come from broken families where they either live with mom, dad, a grandparent or float between houses. They do not always get the experiences that a "typical" child would. I may not be able to control circumstances within their home, but I can provide them with as many tools and resources to learn as much as possible.
My Project
This area rug will allow students to have a soft place to sit. Our classroom has cold, hard tile and we do A LOT of activities on the floor. Each morning we start our day off on the floor in morning circle discussing our agenda for the day and talking about self improvement goals that we can work on.
The area rug will also be used each day during our math lesson.
We start the day off with math corner. During this time students need to be close in proximity so they can pair up with a friend and participate in group discussion.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
