This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students from my school come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The majority of them are two to three grade levels behind in reading, writing, and mathematics and have struggled to catch up since middle school.

They come to my school hoping to become lawyers to make a difference in the world around them.

In essence, they want to become contributing members of society, not just functioning ones. They want to learn and need a little more support to become better contenders in a competitive world.

My Project

I am asking for a Dustbuster to keep the classroom clean. With less than a full staff in schools these days, keeping the classroom clean has become a challenge. Having a Dustbuster to pick up dirt at the end of each day would help keep the classroom clean and dust-free. I am also asking for disposable face masks because there never seems to be enough these days. Masks are constantly breaking, getting stretched out, or getting dirty. Having an extra supply on hand would help keep children safe and in class. Lastly, I am asking for a laptop charger because devices are losing juice by the end of the day. I have managed to keep on top of all of the iPad needs but not the MacBook needs. Please help me give my students the tools they need to stay in school.
