Help me give my students a financial literacy learning activity where they’ll apply their knowledge through a fun and delicious buying-in-a-store experience.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are learning to be responsible and have fun at the same time. Each student has a chance to apply for a class job at the beginning of the year. Once they get hired, they perform their duties with fidelity and respect.
They get paid every Friday and learn how to count, take care of their money and save up for the 6 weeks when the Class Store is open.
At the end of the six weeks, they get to use their money and buy in our class store. They enjoy their purchases and learn how to earn money at an early age. For sure it’s a very gratifying experience.
