Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Financial literacy is a key part of being successful in the real world. Students will be able to earn money in class by coming prepared, being kind classmates, etc. Bi-weekly, students will be able to shop in the store. While shopping, students will complete an order form in order to practice their basic math skills. Students will also learn about saving, spending, and budgets.

Using a classroom economy will encourage students to come prepared while also teaching them responsibility.

Students will see the importance of math and how it is used outside of the classroom.

While students in my room always have access to healthy snacks, the “fun” food on my list will help to incentivize my students. They will be able to save their class dollars to buy their favorite snacks and prizes.
