My Project
The Outsiders written by S.E. Hinton has been a treasured story for students for the past 50 years. My students are excited to read this book they have heard so much about. We will focus on analyzing themes of identity, divided communities, and found family. This story was a breakout success because it depicts the full humanity and raw reality teenagers experience in life. It helps students learn about empathy, learning from one's mistakes, and seeing the good in the world despite tragedy. Thank you for giving the gift of this story, its incredible characters, and its lasting impact to 7th grade students at HTLA.
