My Students
Over the past couple of years I have been able to buy class sets of books for my students. I can't afford to buy a class set of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. I have seen how the students are more engaged if they have their own personal book in front of them when we read together. Please help.
I teach 4th grade in CA.
My students come from caring homes, but every year more and more families are unable to donate to the classroom due to financial issues. I teach at a K-8 school, and due to that I get to see them grow all the way through junior high. My students are eager to read, eager to learn, and a pleasure to work with. I am thankful for them, and I wouldn't want to teach anywhere else.
My Project
I am hoping to gain a class set of Tales of a Fourth Grade for my class. The book itself is great to begin the school year with, as the idea of being in 4th grade is new and exciting for my students. I would love to start the year with this read aloud because it would help our class form the pattern of reading together.
Thank you for donating and assisting my classroom.
A book in front of a child during a read aloud helps the child to focus on the material at hand. They are more engaged, more alert, and can more easily visualize the text. Please consider helping my students. Thanks again!
