My Project
In our Humanities: History through Literature and Film elective, we aim to increase literacy skills along with a love of history by using historical fiction as a hook. This class set of Laurie Halse Anderson's "Chains" (the Seeds of America trilogy) will be a wonderful resource for our middle school readers studying the American Revolution and the lives of the enslaved. In addition to the class set, we will use various online resources (history lessons, graphic organizers, journals) along with our library of American Revolution resources to compare and contrast history and fiction and create a final culminating project.
