My students are energetic and passionate, and they love to learn and try new things. Their spirit and enthusiasm for life and learning are contagious. They are of the age where it is important for them to learn skills that will make them self-sufficient.
As teachers and coaches, we want to be able to provide them with the opportunities to express themselves and not limit their knowledge to just what our school funding has to offer.
Students get excited about being able to use new equipment. It is so much fun to see their faces light up when they come into the room and see something new out. It's like Christmas!
My Project
Most classroom basics are pencils, markers, and erasers. Because I teach Culinary arts. My classroom basics are a little different. Kitchen basics and supplies are what I'm asking for.
Culinary basics like hot pads, oven mitts, scrubbers, paper towels, Kleenex, and hand soap are what we need.
COVID made last year very challenging. Most of our class budget was used on precautionary items such as gloves, hair nets, and hand sanitizers. Because of this, having this project funded will help me be able to purchase more expensive equipment and supplies.
