This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach remarkable students 9-12 who are kind, creative, and capable. Like students across the nation, my students are reacclimating to the school environment and I need new tools to engage my students, to foster academic and socioemotional growth, and to help my students succeed.
My Project
Diverse collaborative art circles, and project based tools will help meet my students where they are at, especially those who are in ELL or SPED programs. This project will help encourage engagement, discussion, and collaboration at various levels in our Art classroom. My students have been greatly impacted by the pandemic and would benefit from access to new school supplies, materials, and literature.
My students have embarked on an independent artistic journey.
Fine arts clubs, Scholastic art competitions and local competitions are part of our fine art culture. I'd love to be able to begin artistic circles via a variety of mediums for my scholars, from ceramics to glass fusing.
During such a challenging and changing year in education, my students need the tools necessary to engage (and re-engage) in their learning. This project will help me obtain supplies for my students, from project and manipulative materials to brand new tools, to encourage critical thinking and higher-order thinking skills.
