This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our high school is a college-preparatory school that seeks to develop the deeper character and unique potential of each student.
Not only do our graduates leave with the academic tools to succeed in college, but they leave with a new sense of self that drives them to be their best.
In order to draw out true leadership, students are challenged with new experiences. In addition, a social justice theme is infused throughout our entire curriculum. We are committed to developing individuals who will become agents of positive social change and who will actively create a more equitable society.
Our most recent graduating class, the Class of 2020 has the highest percentage of advanced regents recipients of any other class at our school. Class of 2020 also includes a Posse Scholar, several AP scholars, and students who've worked to earn full scholarships toward college!
My Project
Each year we make a big deal of celebrating our graduating seniors, #ReachHigher #CollegeSigningDay. 90% of which have been accepted to college and 90% of which plan to attend college in the fall. We know college may look different, just as most things now do. But, we want to celebrate them just the same. Please assist me in putting together care packages with college necessities so these students can feel our love and support - even virtually. They may not be on campus in the fall, we don't know what the future holds, but we do know they have worked so hard and deserve our congratulations and celebration.
