This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, my goal has been to encourage and help my students to improve their reading scores and get closer to reading on grade level. I have begun collecting books that students have requested and new books for them to dive into. Now, my classroom is in need of a way to store and organize our library.

My hope is that our classroom library will be a place that is inviting and makes students feel excited to read.

These bookshelves, storage bins, and decals that will be used as labels will ensure that students are able to find books that interest them and are at their reading level. The coffee table will replace a broken table in our reading corner that stores plush toys and pillows to help students feel more comfortable as they read. I’m excited to transform our small class library into a safe space for students to enter different worlds through reading!
