Help me give my students more variety in our class book club. Books like Nancy Drew, Bunnicula, Maniac Magee, Big Foot and Little Foot, Adventurer's Wanted, and Never Talk to Ravens will engage readers all year long!
I get to spend my days with about 100 active, intelligent problem solvers, also known as 4th graders.
My students are excited to be in school!!
They are learning what works best for them. They enjoy working and collaborating together. They are encouraged to discuss, ask questions, and share insights together.
My Project
My fourth graders love it when I read to them. Some of my students are reading significantly below grade level while some of my students are reading on above grade level.
My goal is to reach each students interests through picture books and our class book club.
I want to introduce my students to a variety books with different characters, themes, points-of-view, and problems.
My voracious and reluctant readers will be exposed to new picture and chapter books because of this project. Our class discussions will intertwine the literary concepts introduced in the books. For example, the characters in Adventurer's Wanted and Maniac Magee have different adventures, but learn to trust in themselves. In Nancy Drew, The Boxcar Children, and The Recess Problem students will see characters working together to solve a problem.
This project will definitely empower each of my students as readers, thanks for your support!!!
