it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our middle school band program is 9 years old and continuing to build. We now have an established band program but require financial support to continue what we started. Our school is located 7 miles from downtown Houston. We are asking for help in continuing to offer a quality band program to this community, one “in tune” with successful band programs in surrounding school districts especially the programs in more affluent areas. Every child deserves the opportunity to a quality music education and to be a part of a quality band program.
My Project
With recent floods, school funds are especially tight. Keeping the clarinets in tip top condition is vital to producing a great sound. We teach our students to work for a true characteristic tone each and every time. This is only possible with a good reed on an instrument working properly. How frustrating is it to try your best to be successful but not have the right tools to do the job. Teaching these young musicians proper maintenance is crucial and that begins with swabbing out the instrument each and every time. I am requesting 40 Handkerchief Cleaning Swabs. Success makes practicing fun. Success promotes practice. Good practice habits teach a great work ethic and responsibility. Characteristics they will take with them into adulthood. Your contribution can make a real difference.
