This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since the pandemic started, students and their families have had trouble paying for needed supplies. These quality clarinet reeds will help our students continue to learn as soon as they need a new reed, rather than just sitting in class waiting for someone to go buy them one, which leads to a pretty significant learning loss. Students often will have just one or maybe two reeds with them, and in band, things just happen!
Having a supply of clarinet reeds available will keep the students learning when they are in need of a tiny bit of financial assistance.
It helps avoid a potentially awkward discussion, and every little bit helps our families in these times. In band, we can really run through reeds like candy!
