My Project

As the lead teacher in a lively first-grade classroom at a vibrant urban school, I’m passionate about making science exciting and engaging for my young learners through hands-on experiences. I believe that learning should be an adventure, and nothing compares to the wonder of watching science come alive right in front of their eyes.

Imagine the joy and excitement in our classroom as a fluffy baby chick hatches from its egg!

Over the course of three weeks, an ordinary egg will transform into an adorable living creature, and I want my students to witness every step of this incredible process. From turning the eggs to checking for fertility, they’ll take part in a real-life science experiment they’ll never forget.

This project offers my first graders a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of embryology and life cycles in a tangible, memorable way. However, to make this dream a reality, we need additional science resources. With your support, we can create a vibrant hatchery in our classroom, where curiosity thrives and lifelong memories are made.

Let’s provide these young scientists with an unforgettable experience they’ll treasure forever! Your generosity will not only make learning meaningful but will also ignite a lasting passion for science. Thank you for helping us bring this incredible adventure to life!

This project also beautifully aligns with the themes of Chinese New Year, which celebrates renewal and new beginnings. Watching the chicks develop and hatch symbolizes the promise of new life, echoing the holiday’s focus on growth and prosperity. By connecting this hands-on experience with cultural traditions, such as the symbolism of the rooster in the Chinese zodiac, students will gain a deeper appreciation for both science and cultural heritage.
