Help me give my students a portable outdoor classroom. We will utilize these stools to create areas for citizen science projects such as documenting bird migrations or monarch eggs.
Over the past few years as a science specialist I have found a passion in my 720 young scientists in the act of doing and contributing to real science practices. One way that we do this is through citizen science participation. I would like to increase our contributions to science and engagement through some more outdoor opportunities such as feeder watches and monarch watches.
Having lightweight seating that is accessible to all students will create a safer environment outside which shows my respect to student scientists as young professionals as well as to their many allergen needs.
I have had the opportunity to use these stools as an adult and found that I was more focused on instruction and not worried about plant or insect allergens that I may be on the ground. These also provide us more ample opportunity to comfortably be learning outside without the constraints of wet or frozen ground.
