My Project

Students have been struggling in the primary classroom because learning through a computer is never good for them. I want to make sure I have enough tools to help them learn with their hands again.

Resources like magnetic sentence building boards and ‘Splash!’ the sight word game will be used in my first five reading centers to build foundational skills in a new and exciting way!

Resources like the place value whiteboards will provide visual steps and help in the process of adding two and three-digit numbers with regrouping. Geoboards and centimeter cubs will also provide hands-on experiences to learn math!

In light of COVID, I have been doing my best to keep students engaged in stimulating activities that don’t involve a screen. Molding clay, marble run, and squish sensory beads all provide my student an engaging way to use their skills and critical thinking to build and play with something new! This way students are off the screens but still being engaged in something that stimulates their brain.

In 2nd grade, we need to do something even more so exciting and different to get our children to learn. Help me make a difference in my classroom by changing the way they learn!
