My Students
The kids call me Ms. Frizzle because they know how much I love science. And enthusiasm is contagious!
Our school has been designated Title I because of our high population of students coming from at-risk and low socioeconomic situations.
To help combat what is missing at home, our school has adopted the Leader in Me philosophy which is based on Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Effective Leaders.
My Project
My students need Snap Circuits to learn about electricity, circuits, conductors, and insulators. Snap Circuits hold up with lots of handling and experimentation. The kits come with switches, lights, and "toys" that work when the circuit is completed. This allows the children to work at a science center independently, refining their skill and understanding.
Not only will my students be better able to understand the key scientific concept of electricity and circuits, but they will also build independence and get to have fun along the way.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
