This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Pre-K students love coming to school to learn and interact with their friends. Although the majority of them come from low-income families, they come to school every day with a smile on their face.

Each child comes to school eager and ready to be challenged and learn!

We are on the move in our classroom. We are constantly mixing things up throughout the day. Large group, small group, partner work, and individual work opportunities are utilized daily. Finding the best way for everyone to learn is my goal.

My Project

Every morning we come together for circle time to help children enjoy learning. It also helps children with their friendships and strengthens the relationship between myself and the students by talking and learning to understand feelings, respect other people’s views, develop confidence and learn to trust each other. Circle time is the perfect opportunity to teach the WHOLE child.

By donating to this project you are providing us with materials to make sure our circle time is successful and engaging.

The new carpet will give students a visual of where to sit, ensuring they are on task. During circle time we discuss the weather every day. The weather pocket chart will allow students to display the weather for the whole week. Learning to write their name is very important in pre-k. The dry erase pockets will be used for students to practice tracing and writing their names daily during our circle time. Lastly, the magnetic pocket charts will make it easy to display new information we discuss every morning onto our whiteboard.
