it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten classroom is a new addition to our school. Due to increasing numbers of kindergarten students enrolling in our program, we have created a new classroom to allow class sizes to be smaller and for students to receive more one-on-one support and individualized teaching.
My wonderful bunch of kiddos are students who are eager to learn and ready to participate.
My kindergarten classroom is part of a Title I school mostly made up of low income families. Coming to school each day is something my students look forward to as they have come to understand that it is a fun and safe environment where learning happens.
My Project
In order to ensure the fun and comfort of the classroom remains when students join my new classroom I am hoping to be able to provide them with a new Circle Time carpet for whole group instruction and activities. Some actives will include story time, morning circle where we discuss our daily jobs, schedule of the day, and review calendar, as well as whole group instruction for phonic, literacy, math, and much more.
Donations toward a Circle Time Carpet for our classroom will help to make the space more inviting and comfortable for students who are leaving their previous overcrowded classrooms and joining a smaller class.
Kindergarten involves many whole group activities and having a carpet to sit on will allow students to be more comfortable and focused on the activity.
