it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
History teaches everything including the future.
Lamartine
My students come from a high-poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home structures: nuclear, single parent, foster and migrant, to name a few.
My students love to be at school and enjoy learning, especially when the activities are hands-on. Many of my students are English Language Learners that attend a public school in the Los Angeles area. They are always excited to experience any kind of technology that I'm able to bring to my class.
My Project
We have some iPads in the classroom and we also have very old history books. The students are not interested in these books. Every time we do social studies they complain and are not happy. The are not motivated to study history so what better way than do it with the iPads. These kids live in a digital world and I need to find new ways to teach. I have to adapt to the new way of teaching and the youth of today. I need the Cicero Kids to teach history in the digital world. They will have a fun time studying and researching the history of this beautiful country. I will use Cicero Kids from AKJ to teach social studies three times a week after lunch. I also will use the interactive way for my lesson plans. During social studies using Cicero Kids, I will teach Native Americans, the differences between Jamestown and Plymouth. Students will learn the causes and effects of the American Revolution. My fifth grades will also use Cicero Kids to research and create a PowerPoint on Slavery.
What better way to teach history and social studies?
Students are captivated with technology. I know for sure that students will enjoy learning with Cicero Kids. I would like to give it a try for the good of the students.
